Announcement

The current management behind the FT team is different now.
U all may be wondering why did we switch from BoF to FT, here's several reasons.

1. the layout in FT is so much easier and organized. (we can't seem to find a good layout for BoF)
2. FT already have its own logo, and most people have already linked FT.

Do note that we have ammended the notes at the sidebar etc. ya.

Thank u.! Email us at : fashion.truth@gmail.com

Reader 168, Seller 38 & Seller 39

Hi Fashion Truth,

I've been reading with amusement to alot of entries that readers have been sending in all these while. Thanks for being a medium that can help to highlight certain issues of online shopping. =)

About the issue of sizes, there is really no right or wrong way to solve issues like these. Both buyers and sellers have roles to play in the whole process of buying / selling items.
Firstly, the buyers' side. A buyer who is unsure if a certain top fits well, should, obviously, enquire and ask for measurements if the sellers' blog do not provide measurement. As Reader 161 said in her email, "As everyone knows, the reason we buy or sell online, is for convenience and CHEAP, Therefore, NO Trying or Return & Refund allowed. If you know that you cant fit into the Normal Free Size clothes, why want to ask the owner, trying your luck, and when the owner say most prob can, you buy it. After trying it and than you wan to return it? How fair is that?" I totally agree with her. We have to admit that as buyers we sometimes really like the clothes, and though as stated in the blogs that it, example, fits only up to a UK8, we sometimes still ask if we can fit eventhough we are usually bigger sizes than that. I am also guilty of that. However, I too, never ask for a refund. So sometimes, buyers have to be realistic and when in doubt, just don't try our luck.

As for the sellers' side, sellers firstly, should always bare in mind to state the best sizes that the item can fit. I've seen the same item selling on different blogs, and the sizes varies. Example, on Blog A, it's stated "Fits UK4 - UK8." Blog B stated "Fits UK6 - UK10." So which is right? Sometimes when the clothes arrive, I do wonder sometimes, how in the world can this top fit a UK10 when it probably look best on a UK6.

Based on personal experience, some blog shops that do not really give good description of sizes are Miss OCD, A Touch of Simplicity. I hope I don't offend the sellers here, and again, bare in mind this is personal experience. If I am not wrong, the model on Miss OCD is petite, (nice body too), but I once enquire about a dress, she said it'll fit me when I told her my height, as I did not want it to be too short. When I got it, it was really short for me. Such a waste because she has lovely dresses. The sizes of ATOS that is stated on the blog is also sometimes make me unsure. Example is her Lovely Green dress, she says can fit UK4 - UK12. I have that exact same dress and it's impossible to fit a UK12 in my opinion. I have been a buyer from her but regretfully cant fit into the item.

For shops that provides proper measurements are Clothesbucket, Fashion Unleashed, Clothesville, based on personal experience again. I dont have to emphasize the service of Clothesbucket - she is a nice seller with good service. Her measurements are also mostly accurate, even shoes. She is also quick and patient to help with providing measurements and help for customers to purchase the items. So is Fashion Unleashed. They state the measurements well (bust, waist etc) in the blog, and the sellers are nice too, so does Clothesville.

One thing I like about Clothesville is that they actually get friends who are bigger sizes to try, just to make sure if it fits best on bigger-sized customer. It helps customers who are bigger sizes to be able to roughly estimate if they can fit, and Clothesville always emphasize that the final decision is mine, because they dont want to mislead and give wrong judgments. All 3 blogs are good with helping with issues on measurements, though pls take note they are not 100% right ALL THE TIME, ok? sometimes sellers still makes mistakes, but they seem to put in more effort to help customers.
just my honest opinions. pls dont get offended, dearies.

Clarification from
Miss OCD

No problem for the late reply dear. It's CNY! Everyones bz :) [we - FT, replied her mail a few days late] Ok back to the case, I'm not sure which dress she bought but i do remember a few customers asking whether it would be too short for them which was why i started providing measurements on the blog and i also do provide measurements when they enquire about the item. Moreover, the defination of "too short" is really vague though. It could be alright for me, but it may seem too short for another. So it's really hard to tell. And also, I did a common observation and I noticed during a conversation with some friends, that some of them do not know their height. The model for my blog is only 161cm tall (5ft 3) but some of my friends who is shorter than the model claims to be 5ft 4 and such. It would be great if customers could be clear of how tall they are because I can't help them much as I've never seen them before. It is quite frustrating when I received emails asking "Will it be to short/long/big for me? my vital stats are ....." I try to answer them but it's so difficult! Cause, the truth is, I don't know :( You get what I'm saying babe? Haha. Because I do provide measurements on the blog, and it is the customers responsibility to measure themselves. And another funny question I came across was.. "Does it fit a Small Medium, Medium medium or a Large medim" Mind boggling, no? The best I can do is provide the measurements of the garment. I hope this clarifies the subject matter babe :) and a note of advice too all online shoppers :always know your measurements! very very important, if your not sure, just measure again :) (ie your waist hips and such) Cause based on my experience.. My waist size could change from time to time (ice cream overdose and such.) So please update your measurements darlings! :)

A Touch of Simplicity

"First, we would like to apologize if we have stated the sizes wrongly. The Lovely Green dress is made of lycra stretchable material and it had an elastic band at the back. When we measured it while being stretched to a certain reasonable level, it could fit a size L. If you don't mind us making a comparison with Dainty Dresser's Secret Garden... Dainty Dresser, being a more famous and experienced fashion site than ours, we took them as an example and hence, the UK 12 size. Day by day, we are still learning how to be a good seller... We apologize for any misunderstanding. Thanks."
